A coach who truly defined excellence in the Public League. In his 35 years of coaching, Fred Rosenfeld took his Cross-Country and Track teams at Overbrook High School and Central High School to 51 championship victories. Widely considered to be the most successful coach in Public League history, Fred was both a mentor and role model for his student athletes.
The Philadelphia Public League was deeply saddened to learn of Fred’s passing this past Thursday and our thoughts are with his family in this time of mourning.
