Steven Leslie III and Ian Zeitz (Abraham Lincoln High School) competed in this tournament on Friday, March 4th at Leisure Lanes in Lancaster PA.
There were 144 boys from all organized high school bowling programs in the eastern Pennsylvania region. The 12 athletes with the highest scratch scores after five games would go on to represent our region against western PA bowlers on March 18th. Dutch Lanes in Ephrata PA will host this tournament.
After Friday’s qualifying round, Steven Lesliefinished in fifth place (1135/227avg). Ian Zeitz posted a respectable score (1036/207 avg) earning him the twenty-fourth position.
In addition to this tournament’s finalists, Steven will be bowling against the 12 qualifiers from the PA western region’s high school tournament. The champion will be crowned the best high school bowler in the State. Brian Kennedy (Central HS) earned this title in 2016.
